This Sunday will see the 26th edition of the Upminster Benefit Match take place at Upminster Park. The end of season finale is always a great way to finish the summer, and we hope to see many cricket fans and members of the local community in attendance. For those coming to Upminster Park we ask you to read the information below:

TIMINGS
Cricket events will be taking place on the ground from 9.30am. The main game will begin at 2.30pm with further events taking place during the tea interval (approx. 3.45pm). Presentations and speeches will conclude the day in front of the Pavilion at around 6.15pm. Any Upminster junior players unsure of their activity for the day should contact their Team Manager.

TRANSPORT-BY CAR
There will be NO parking on the ground on the day. Parking spaces on the ground are for Essex players, match officials and invited guests only. Please do not try to park at the ground on Sunday. Nearest car parks are at Hoppy Hall on Corbet’s Tey Road (5 minute walk to Ground) and Upminster Station on Station Road (8 minute walk to the Ground). The Windmill Hall car park at the top of the ground has very minimal spaces. Please check what charges apply at these car parks. Please note, there will be no parking available on Stewart Avenue on the day of the game.

TRANSPORT-BY BUS/TRAIN
Upminster Park is an 8 minute walk from Upminster Station. Upminster Station is served by C2C Rail, the London Underground (District Line) and London Overground (Liberty Line). London bus route 248 (Cranham-Romford) passes the top end of Upminster Park, while the 370 bus route (Grays-Romford) passes along the Corbet’s Tey Road side of the ground.

TRANSPORT-ON FOOT
Upminster Park is located in the heart of Upminster Town Centre (RM14 2BE) and we urge as many people as possible who are attending the day to arrive on foot and enjoy the occasion.

PAVILION ACCESS
There will be no access to the Pavilion for club members and members of the public between 9.30am and 6.30pm. During this period only players (playing in the main game), invited guests, sponsors and Life Vice Presidents will be able to access the Pavilion. Vice Presidents will be able to access the Pavilion from 4.45pm and club members will be able to access the Pavilion from 6.30pm. Please help our volunteers by using the facilities around the ground between 9.30am and 6.30pm.

TOILETS
Toilets on the ground will be situated next to the nets at the Stewart Avenue end of the ground. The Upminster Park toilets next to Upminster library will also be open for much of the afternoon.

FIRST AID
First Aid support will be available at the Stewart Avenue end of the ground. The First Aiders will be situated next to the sightscreen at that end of the ground.

RAFFLE
Raffle sellers will be coming round the ground during the main match. There will be many cricket and non-cricket related prizes, and the raffle will be drawn during the speeches and presentations at the end of the day. Details of any tickets for any unclaimed prizes will be put on to the club’s website and social media platforms on Monday morning. All proceeds from the raffle will go towards youth cricket at Upminster, so please do buy generously if you can.

FOOD AND DRINK
A variety of food and drink stalls will be available on the ground and details of all of these are here. Please do support these outlets if at all possible.

WATCH THE BALL!!
As with all modern-day cricket matches, there will likely be many boundaries hit during the match. Please watch the ball at all times, even when you are in front of the Beer Tent!!

FRIENDS OF UPMINSTER PARK
The Friends of Upminster Park will be in attendance at the game to share their plans and aspirations for the place the club is lucky enough to call home. Please do pop along and speak to them about how you can get involved.

LITTER
We urge all club members and all members of the public to put littler in the bins provided or take it away with them at the end of the day. We are proud that the club plays in such a great and well kept location, and we urge everyone attending Sunday’s event to help keep the park looking good by avoiding leaving any litter behind.
