ANT LIMN TAKES THE BIG SCALPS

Last night, the Kalijeera Kings and the Chairman's Choice kicked off their Windmill Whack campaign. The Kings won the toss and elected to bat first on a sticky Upminster wicket and quickly lost Frankie Hazle and Stu Hammond who were cleaned up by John Curtis. Vidhyarthi Kantumuchbu was the star of the show for the Kings as they re-built the innings. The late replacement from Watford Town CC smashed 58 from 30 balls including 3 sixes. He found support in Freddie Butt (27) and Steve Wright (25) as the Kings finished their 20 overs on 169/6. John Curtis and Tom Billinghurst were the pick of the Chairman's bowlers with two wickets each.

In reply, the Chairman's Choice batsman found it hard to get away the Kings bowling attack on a slowing deck. Peter Thompson fell early but Middlemiss (25) and Epsom (24) built the foundation for a late onslaught. Star-man Shahbaz Butt was the man trusted to see the Chairman's team home but he came undone the to the guile of Ant Limn as Shahbaz smashed a length ball straight down Stu Hammonds throat at cow-corner. Oliver Peck soon departed in a very similar way to leave the chase in turmoil. A late flurry of maximums from Tom Billinghurst wasn't enough as the Chairman's Choice finished 61 runs short.
