What a day for cricket! On Wednesday, June 18th, our awesome Upminster CC U13 Ultras team faced off against the tough Hutton CC U13 Hawks in an epic showdown at the Polo Field Ground. The sun was shining, the pitch looked great, and everyone was super excited for a fantastic match!

Hutton won the toss and decided to bat first, hoping to set a big score. They managed to put up a challenging total of 125 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their full 20 overs. Our bowlers worked really hard to keep the runs down and grab those important wickets! Oscar Hayes was brilliant with the ball, picking up 2 wickets and only giving away 13 runs in his 4 overs, which is super economical! Oscar Soussana also showed off his skills, taking 2 wickets. And let's not forget Woody Treadwell, who chipped in with a crucial wicket too, keeping the pressure on Hutton's batsmen. Everyone in the field was giving it their all, chasing down every ball and cheering on their teammates.

When it was our turn to bat, we knew we had a good target to chase. We needed 126 runs to win! Our opening batsmen got us off to a steady start, but the real fireworks began when Anay Narbheram came to the crease. He was absolutely fantastic, smashing 35 runs off 48 balls, hitting 2 fours along the way! He stayed calm and focused, building our innings. Then, Oscar Soussana, who had already done great with the ball, proved he's an all-rounder by scoring an unbeaten 26 runs off 26 balls, including 3 amazing fours! He stayed until the very end, guiding us to victory. Archie Lowe also played a crucial knock, scoring a quick 21 runs off just 19 balls with 2 fours, really boosting our run rate. Thanks to some awesome batting and a good number of extras (34 in total!), we chased down Hutton's score in the last over, reaching 127 runs for just 4 wickets in 19.3 overs!

It was a truly sensational team effort from everyone in the U13 Ultras. We played with so much energy, teamwork, and determination. Winning by 6 wickets against a strong team like Hutton CC U13 Hawks felt absolutely brilliant! We're all incredibly proud of how everyone performed today. This win really boosts our confidence, and we're already looking forward to our next match! Go Upminster
