It’s always one of the most highly anticipated dates in the UCC Calendar, and the Windmill Whack Draft Night will take place this Thursday evening at the Pavilion.

Once again in 2026 there will be five sides taking part in the Whack and they are as follows:

Griffin Grandmasters – Sponsored by Griffin Group, the Property People;
BrewDog Braves – Sponsored by BrewDog, Upminster;
Govani Maestros – Sponsored by Govani Chemists;
Kushoom Bugh Tigers – Sponsored by Kushoom Bugh Tandoori Restaurant;
Mullis and Peake Monarchs – Sponsored by Mullis and Peake LLP Solicitors;

This year’s sides will be captained by the following:

Grandmasters – Max Carter Miller and James Burchell;
Braves – Rob Mack and Alex Ward;
Maestros – Jordan Tolan and Paul Burley;
Tigers – Jamie Green and Liam Robertson;
Monarchs – Lewis Munn and Ian Munn;

Players will be divided into five categories for the Draft, which alongside the Captains’ group will be Seniors (34 players), Youth (24), Juniors (19) and Stars (13). Each squad will consist of 20 players, and our captains will all be vying to pick what they believe to be the strongest squad available as they look to follow the Kushoom Bugh Tigers who claimed the crown in 2025.

The bar will be open from 5.30pm, with the introductions and Draft rules at 7.30pm and the first pick taking place at 8.00pm.

The first game in this year’s competition, WW XI, will be on Sunday 31st May when all five franchises will be in action.
