2019 was a excellent season for the Sunday friendly side with an unbeaten season including fixtures at some excellent grounds and challenging oppositions, a first visit to Holtwhites Trinibis CC was a early trip into the unknown, helping look back at the fixture is Sunday Friendly captain Dave Brown

'We went into the match with a strong early season side with a few players wanting to get their season underway, we won the toss, batted and it was a lively wicket and we lost a few early wickets'

Holtwhites took the early wickets of Frost, Schofield and Ison.

'There were a couple of rebuilding partnerships that Paul (Middlemiss) was involved in, Ollie White and Sponge Bob I believe but each time just as it really looked to get going they took a wicket'

Middlemiss fell for 66 having batted the majority of the innings.

'We were helped with a good last wicket partnership of 35 odd runs between Ryan (Brown) and Kevin (Roome), I think that was Doggys top score for 6 seasons (thanks Dave) to get the score to 191, something with the bowlers we had we thought we could defend.'

Holtwhites lost 2 early wickets to opening bowlers Karim Govani and Will Bottoms and when Billy Wright took the third there were hopes of a comfortable victory. Garnsworthy and Kevin Tew rebuilt the innings and going to the final 10 overs were favourites for victory. Skipper Brown bought himself and fellow specialist death bowler Mark Schofield on in a effort to slow the run rate. Brown dismissed Tew for 54 whilst Schofield dismissed Garnsworthy for 79 thanks to a great catch in the deep by Will Frost. Holtwhites required 2 runs from the final ball.

'The game came down to the final ball and they needed 2 to win, they couldn't get the ball past the fielders and no one did a Nathan Lyon and we won by just 1 run. It was a great game and springboard for an unbeaten season'
