Season nears a climax with plenty still to play for

Just three weekends of the season remain but there is plenty still to play for and much still going on across the club.

The weekend will start early for our U11 Girls who head to Writtle for the County Finals of the Essex Softball Smash. The side won the District event earlier in the summer to qualify for Finals Day and they will face Orsett & Thurrock, Frenford and Kelvedon & Feering with their first game starting at 9.30am.

Of course, Friday night junior training will be taking place as normal and we request that with the sun once again shining brightly, all parents and guardians ensure their children bring plenty of water with them and wear an appropriate hat/cap if possible. Wholeslice (at Roots) will once again be on site taking orders for their legendary pizzas while this evening's match from The Hundred will be shown live on the screens.

Wholeslice have kindly offered to assist with the disposal of pizza boxes from this week, so once you have finished your pizzas if you could please take your boxes back to the ordering table so they can be disposed of. PLEASE NOTE, ACCESS TO THE PAVILION AND BAR IS FOR MEMBERS ONLY AND YOUR PITCHERO APP WILL NEED TO BE SHOWN TO USE THE FACILITIES.

Saturday will see the 1st XI travel to Woodford Wells knowing a win will take them to the brink of promotion while the 2nd XI will hope to continue their charge up the table when they welcome Hutton to Upminster Park. The 3rd XI will be looking to keep alive their title hopes against Wanstead & Snaresbrook at Coopers while the 4th XI travel to Old Southendians knowing a win would seal promotion and all but secure the title. The 6th XI could also be celebrating on Saturday evening as they need just a point to seal promotion and know a win against Hatfield Peverel will also secure the title.

On Sunday the Women's 1st XI will go to Wanstead & Snaresbrook knowing a win will keep up the pressure on the top two while the Women's 2nd XI will host Kelvedon & Feering at Upminster Park as they look to pick up the points they need for survival. The scheduled Sunday League game against Bardoli has been conceded by the opposition and so will not take place on Sunday.

There are also six junior games taking place throughout the day on Sunday while on Monday evening the Women's Softball side will head to Writtle CC to take on Frenford in the final of the Ballerz Blast as they look to bring the trophy back to Upminster.
