After 20 weeks, lots of sunshine and hundreds of games, the last full weekend of the 2026 season is upon us. While it is said ahead of most weekends, this weekend really will be a bumper three days with lots going on across the club.
The final Friday night junior training will take place this evening at Upminster Park. Wholeslice (at Roots) will once again be on site taking orders for their legendary pizzas while this evening's Premier League football match will be shown live on the screens.
Wholeslice have kindly offered to assist with the disposal of pizza boxes from this week, so once you have finished your pizzas if you could please take your boxes back to the ordering table so they can be disposed of. PLEASE NOTE, ACCESS TO THE PAVILION AND BAR IS FOR MEMBERS ONLY AND YOUR PITCHERO APP WILL NEED TO BE SHOWN TO USE THE FACILITIES.
Also at Upminster Park on Friday evening, our U11 and U12 Girls will take one another on in what is essentially a decider for the U12 Girls Central League title. The action in this one will get underway at 5.00pm.
Three senior sides secured their divisional titles last Saturday, but there is still a lot to play for tomorrow for a number of our sides. The 1st XI will conclude their season at Aztecs, who themselves are looking to secure promotion, while the 2nd XI will be looking to finish in style when they take on Woodford Wells at Upminster Park. The 3rd XI go to Harold Wood for a shootout for the runners-up spot in their division, while the 4th XI will look to complete an unbeaten season when they take on Benfleet 3s and the 5th XI finish with a local derby against Hornchurch Athletic 3rd XI.
Then we move on to Grand Slam Sunday!!! At HQ it’s Windmill Whack Finals Day, with three men’s squads and two women’s sides all hopeful of taking their respective titles. Finals Day will begin with the Mullis & Peake Monarchs taking on the Govani Maestros in the Men’s Qualifier before the Women’s Final will see Howden Heat face off against the Root 66’ers. The day will then conclude with the Men’s Final where the BrewDog Braves will take on the winner of the morning Qualifier. It should be a great day of cricket, the bar will be open throughout and the latest draws for the 200 Club will be taking place during the afternoon, so get yourself along to Upminster Park to enjoy the action.
A mile down the road at Coopers the Sunday League XI go for glory in the Essex Sunday League Play Offs. Ollie Burley and his side have enjoyed a brilliant season, and they will take on Goresbrook with the winners going through to play Scintilla or Sharks Cricket Academy in the Final.
And completing Grand Slam Sunday will be five of our junior teams who are taking part in their respective Central Cup Finals. The U14 Ultras won their final last weekend, and this time it is the turn of the U10s Ultras, U11 Girls, U12 Girls, U13 Ultras and U15 Girls. These games will be taking place at Chelmer Park, Writtle and Harold Wood (see details below) and it would be great if you are able to get along and support.
