The Benefit Match returns, with a full day of events planned

After a two year absence due to the Covid pandemic, the Benefit Match will return to Upminster Park on Sunday 18th September.

This will be the 22nd such event the club has hosted since the first game was held in 1997. This year's match will once again be played in aid of the Essex Cricket Foundation.

There will be a series of events throughout the day, involving our junior and ladies teams, before the T20 match between Upminster's 1st XI and an Essex CCC XI gets underway at 2.45pm. Full details of the timetable for the day will be published shortly.

Programmes for the day, which will be required for entry to the event, will be available from mid-July.

Since 1997 matches have been hosted for a number of individual Essex beneficiaries as well as for the Essex Cricket Foundation. The likes of Graham Gooch, Nasser Hussain, Alastair Cook, Andy Flower and Ravi Bopara have all graced the Upminster Park surface during this time, entertaining the Upminster public who always turn up in huge numbers for the occasion.

We would like to thank Dan Feist and Arfan Akram of Essex Cricket in the Community for their help in arranging this day. Further details on the day will be made available over the coming weeks.
