The senior league season drew to a close on Saturday with a mixed bag of results to end what has been one of the most successful summers in the club's recent history.

The 3rd XI ensured their attendance at the League Dinner with an excellent performance at Harold Wood which saw them take the runners-up spot in the Premier Division. Wood began the day in second spot and decided to bat first upon winning the toss, and they batted solidly throughout their innings to make 229-9 from their 45 overs. Upminster's reply was given a solid start thanks to George Sheridan and captain Dan Simpson, but it was a fourth wicket stand from Arun Kullar and Rob Healy which really put the visitors in charge. Kullar made 80 and Healy contributed 62 as the pair took their side to 194-3 before a late tumble of wickets set up a tense finish. However, Joseph Brooks and Ryan Oakes did enough to see Upminster to a two wicket win which confirmed an excellent second place finish for Dan Simpson's side. 

Matt Ingleson's 4th XI became the 2026 Invincibles as they beat Benfleet at Coopers to complete an unbeaten season. Benfleet chose to bat first but it was Upminster who were on top early on with Aedan Daly (3-44) doing the early damage. Jake White (57) dug in to try and get Benfleet back in the game but two wickets each for Nathan Brown and captain Ingleson helped bowl out the visitors for 161. Liam Robertson (40) and Stan Moore (25) put Upminster in charge in reply before WIlliam Peck (26) and Ingleson kept Upminster on track for victory. Peck fell just before the end, but it was fitting that Ingleson was there to hit the winning runs as his 45 not out from just 23 balls saw his side to a five wicket win.

The 1st XI's title winning season ended with a heavy loss to Aztecs at St Chad's Park. Aztecs asked Upminster to bat first and the home side were on top from the start with Fahim Jan and Mustafa Kamal doing the damage. Adam Wheater and Nehal Butt were the only two Upminster batters to make it into double figures as Upmimster struggled, and they were eventually bowled out for just 87 with Jan taking 4-29 and Kamal picking up 5-19. The home side wasted no time in reply, reaching their target in less than 12 overs with Shah Rukh Khan (41*) and Ashan Lokukatiya (30*) taking their side to a ten wicket win. Aztecs missed out on joining Upminster in the Premier Division next season with Billericay's win over Gidea Park and Romford seeing them clinch second spot.

The 2nd XI suffered a final day home loss to Woodford Wells as Ollie Peck's side ended the season in sixth place. Ian Russell made 32 for Upminster but the home side looked in trouble as they fell to 108-6. Terry Wyatt and John Curtis got Upminster back in the game with a stand of 58 and Wyatt then began to accelerate as he looked to take his side to a competitive total. The experienced batter ended 56 not out as Upminster closed on 225-9 with George Ellis picking up 4-40. Curtis then rolled back the years with the ball to put Upminster on top and with Wells at 111-5 it looked like the home side were on top. However, Wells keeper Mark Lee batted superbly, making 89 not out from just 67 balls, and with support from Eesa Hussain and Hasan Mohsin he led his side to a four wicket win.

An up and down season for the 5th X ended with a derby win over Hornchurch Athletic at Campion. Athletic decided to bat first but Rob Evans and Shrey Shah put Upminster on top with early wickets. Evans completed an excellent debut season for the club with 3-32 before veteran Kevin Roome then worked his way through the lower order, picking up 4-17 as Athletic were dismissed for 164. Chris Martin top scored for the visitors with 45. Captain Adam Overton got the Upminster reply off to a good start in partnership with Ian Munn, and after Munn had fallen Will Court helped the skipper keep the chase on track. Overton (62) and Court (45) both fell before the end but Alfie Taplin (23*) helped take Upminster to a six wicket win.

The Friendly XI put in a fine display to beat Gidea Park and Romford at Broxhill Road. Billy Sheridan (46) got the Upminster innings off to a flying start before a flurry of wickets saw Park get themselves back in the game. Dylan Brooks (46) and Max Bird (40) put Upminster back on top with a stand of 94 before some late boundaries from Patrick Gulvin and Matt Mcarthur helped lift the total to 237 all out. Charles Poch was the stand out bowler for Park as he picked up 4-15. Park never got going in reply with the wickets shared amongst the Upminster attack. Aadit Latey claimed 3-11 and there were two late wickets for Matt Mccarthy as Park were dismissed for 85 to give Upminster a 152 run win.
