Some took longer to be called off than others, but in the end all seven senior games on Saturday were abandoned without a ball being bowled.
One of the earliest games to be called off was the 1st XI's contest against Chingford at a sodden Upminster Park. No games started in 1st XI Division 1 so there are no changes to the table from last week.
It was a similar situation for the 2nd XI in their game away at Chingford. The game was called off around 10.45am and it was the same situation for all games in the 2nd XI Premier Division with a ball not being bowled anywhere.
And it was the same for the 3rd XI whose game against Chingord at the Peter May Centre was called off late morning, but with no games played at all across the division Dan Simpson's side retained their place at the top of the Premier Division table.
With the wicket having been covered at Coopers the 4th X were hopeful their match with high flying Wanstead and Snaresbrook 3s may go ahead, but the rest of the square became to wet and the game was abandoned shortly before lunchtime. With no other games in the division starting, Upminster remain in eighth place in the table.
The 5th XI did travel to Billericay and the game looked set to begin, but shortly before the start further rain arrived and the game was abandoned. One game was played in 4th XI Premier East, with Leigh on Sea taking advantage of the urban microclimate on the Thames Estuary to pick up a ten wicket win. Upminster remain seventh in what is a very congested division.
Another team that were hopeful of getting underway were the 6th XI as they welcomed Woodham Mortimer to Campion. Their game also looked set to start before a heavy lunchtime shower ended their hopes. Writtle did manage to beat Southend in Mid Essex Division 8, meaning they closed the gap on leaders Basildon and Pitsea, but Upminster remain in seventh, 61 points clear of the dropzone.
The 7th XI took the long trip to Aythorpe Roding to face runaway leaders Old Chelmsfordians, with the weather in the area known to be unpredictable. However, with water sitting on the surface at the time the game was due to start the match was abandoned without a ball being bowled. Remarkably two games in Mid Essex Division 9 were completed, with Chelmsford Superkings winning at Great Totham and Galleywood winning at Rankins. That meant Galleywood went above of Upminster but Rankins dropped below them, to leave Upminster still sitting in sixth place.
