Mike Scrivener and Chair Ollie Peck were named as the 2025 winners of the Keith Martin Club Person of the Year Award at Saturday Night's Annual Dinner and Dance. The pair have masterminded the stunning redevelopment of the Upminster Park Pavilion, a project which was years in the making and was completed in August. Both MIke and Ollie put in hundreds of hours of work over many years to enable the redevelopment to begin in January, Between January and August they were a near constant presence at Upminster Park as they oversaw the work taking place and dealt with the numerous queries and issues that came up during the work. The finished pavilion is a building which both the Cricket and Hockey clubs can be proud of and one which will hopefully help to inspire the next generation of cricketers and hockey players in the Upminster area. Everyone connected with Upminster Cricket Club would like to thank Ollie and Mike for their work on the project and congratulate them on this hugely well deserved accolade.

The Gwynne Mack Spirit of Cricket Award was won by Lewis Munn. This unique award recognises a young player at the club who has demonstrated the Spirit of Cricket on or off the pitch over the past year. For a number of seasons Lewis has been a huge help around the club. This year he has helped with Minis training sessions, umpired Windmill Whack games, scored matches when he has not been playing and of course been available to play and train every week. Lewis always plays the game the right way and sets a great example to other youngsters at the club, and we are sure Gwynne would approve of him being awarded this accolade.

Huge thanks are due to Karen Burley and her team for organising such a wonderful evening at the Stifford Hall Hotel. It was a great way to celebrate the 2025 season and recognise the individual and collective achievements throughout the club, and Karen once again ensured everyone had a great night.
