PAVILION REDEVELOPMENT – UPDATE (13th Mar)

PAVILION REDEVELOPMENT – UPDATE (13th Mar)

Paul Middlemiss13 Mar - 12:17

Redeveloped building begins to take shape

As many local members and residents of RM14 will have seen, huge progress has been made on the Pavilion Redevelopment in recent weeks. Our partners at CBW Building Services have completed a number of stages of the project including:

-Demolition works completed
-Site cleared
-Footings Dug Out
-Concrete poured for foundations
-Construction of new exterior walls
-Block and beam flooring laid
-Drainage routes laid
-Roof stripped back

Over the next few weeks work will continue at a fast pace and the next stages to be worked on will be:

-Steelwork to be installed
-New gable roof
-Installation of dormer

At this stage everything remains on track for the Pavilion to be reopened in time for the 2025 cricket season, so members of both the Hockey and Cricket clubs will be able enjoy using the redeveloped facility over the summer months.

In the meantime, our partners at Upminster Hockey Club continue to use the Upminster Branch of the Royal British Legion for post-match hospitality, while the Cricket Club AGM recently took place at Hornchurch Football Club. We would like to thank both the Upminster Branch of the Royal British Legion and Hornchurch Football Club for their support and assistance during this period as well as Upminster Golf Club who have hosting Pavilion Club meetings during this period.

Buy a Brick: (currently raised £59,000.00)
Members and their families or friends can purchase a blue or gold brick as part of the redevelopment. Those purchasing a brick will have their name added to their own brick to be displayed on the “Blue and Gold Wall” in the redeveloped pavilion. Blue bricks can be purchased for £100 while Gold bricks can be bought for £1,000. Should Cricket Club members wish to buy a brick they should do so through their Pitchero account while Hockey Club members can purchase their bricks through their Teamo account.

Other Donations:
To help with the finances of the final project, the club would welcome donations of any value at all from members, and both the Cricket and Hockey Clubs are able to accept contributions for any amount through their respective platforms. For any Cricket Club members wanting to make a donation of any value this can be done through your Pitchero account while for any Hockey Club members wishing to donate in this way you can do this through your Teamo account.

Larger Donations (currently raised £77,000.00):
If there are any members who would like to make a larger donation, or members who would like to make their donation anonymously, they should contact Ollie Peck or Rob Bannister (Cricket Club members) or Andrew Berry or Mike Scrivener (Hockey Club members) for more information.
