Upminster's U14 Ultras held their nerve in the rain to beat Harold Wood at Upminster Park and claim the Central Cup on Sunday afternoon. A thrilling game swung back and forth between both sides before the hosts found the runs required in the final over to pick up the silverware. Wood had won the toss and decided to bat first, and they made a fast start thanks to Robin Singh who blasted a brilliant 41 from just 17 balls before reaching the retirement mark. Joshua Braiden and Leo Polling also made double figure contributions as Wood stayed on top but Upminster's spin trio then began to take control. Aadit Latey (2-17), Anay Narbheram (2-16) and Billy Sheridan (1-10) ran through the middle order as Wood fell from 77-0 to 106-7. Upminster will have hoped to have restrict their opponents to around 125 at that stage but Ollie Norman and Tyler-Jai Rowe added valuable late runs to take their side to a competitive 137-8. Upminster made a steady start to their reply through WIlliam Peck and Kayhan Suneel as they put on 57 for the first wicket inside the first nine overs before Peck fell for 30 to Pratheep Prabakaran. Prabakaran then removed Suneel, also for 30, before quickly grabbing a third wicket to leave Upminster 81-3 and the likely result back in the balance. Dylan Brooks remained at the crease though and sensibly worked the ball around before pouncing on anything short or wide to keep the scoreboard ticking and the required run rate under control. Aadit Latey and Jack Butler both threatened to take Upminster to victory before falling and the hosts were left needing 23 from the final three overs with five wickets in hand. A boundary from Brooks helped Upminster to take ten from the eighteenth over before Oscar Hayes put Upminster in charge with a brilliant boundary through extra cover in the penultimate over. With heavy rain beginning to fall, just five were needed from the final over but Wood were given fresh hope when Hayes went for 10 from the first ball, but a wide and four byes then followed as Upminster won by five wickets to retain the trophy.

The Women's 1st XI ended their season with a loss at champions Hutton in EWPL Division One. Upminster decided to bat first upon winning the toss and they looked in good shape as Harri Goodey and Paige Roche helped take the visitors to 38-1. However, Hutton quickly took control with Georgie Manek (3-16) doing most of the damage as Upminster collapsed to 62-8. Keya Shah (17) and Jami Armes (20) showed plenty of fight for Upminster and their runs helped Upminster climb to a competitive total of 104 all out. Two early wickets from Alex Goodey left Hutton 7-2 in reply but Jacqueline Naidoo dug in to hold the innings together. Anaya Shankar made 23 to give Naidoo good support, and although Upminster battled to the end Naidoo's 52 not out helped see Hutton to a six wicket win. The result means Upminster will end the season in third place in the table. 

A brilliant fightback from the Women's 2nd XI saw them close their Division Two season with a win over Billericay at Coopers. Catherine Johnson and skipper Angela Green were the only batters to reach double figures as Grace Gent (3-18), Chloe Martin (3-5) and Darcy Sturt (3-9) bowled out Upminster for what looked like a well below par 87. Nobody would have predicted what followed as the home side put in a tremendous display with the ball and in the field to claim a brilliant win. Maisie Briggs (3-9), Green (2-14) and Lauren Plumb (2-2) bowled superbly to run through the visitors' batting and although Sturt made 19, Ricay' were rolled out for just 39 to give Upminster a 48 run win as they ended the season in sixth place in the table.

A century from Kiran Kullar and five wickets from Dylan Narbheram helped the Sunday League XI to a fine win at previously unbeaten Sharks Cricket Academy. In a game reduced to 25 overs per side Upminster batted first and Kullar's innings of exactly 100, from 81 balls, helped Upminster towards a big score. Stan Moore added 35 as Upminster made 202-6, but Sharks made a fast start in reply to give themselves a chance of victory. However, wickets began to fall and it was then over Narbheram to take his side to victory. The spinner claimed a brilliant 5-25, and with Lewis Munn, Callum Berry and captain Ollier Burley also in the wickets the home side were bowled out for 154. Results elsewhere mean Upminster can't now take the title, but depending on the score in the last day showdown between Sharks and Scintilla, Ollie Burley's side will finish second or third in the table.
