During the innings break of Sunday's Benefit Match the winners of our nine Jack Petchey Achievement Awards for 2026 were announced. These awards recognise outstanding achievements by young people, and each recipient receives a medal and certificate, while the club receives a grant from the Foundation to be spent on projects which give young people further opportunities.  

The club has been partnered with the Foundation since 2003, and in that time more than 200 young people from the club have been recognised for their outstanding achievements and contributions.

These award winners received their certificates and medallions from Essex star Jamie Porter at Sunday's game.

Sir Jack Petchey set up the Foundation to inspire young people across Essex and East London to work hard and reach their full potential.  Sir Jack sadly passed away in 2024, aged 98.

We must also thank the legend Fred Steel, who has been our Jack Petchey Foundation Coordinator for a number of years. Fred's work has helped the club and the Foundation to recognise the efforts and achievements of so many young people, and it was great that Fred was able to join us at Sunday's game to help present this year's awards.
