Tasmanian star jets in for 2023 season

Upminster Cricket Club are pleased to introduce Beau Webster as their overseas signing for the 2023 season.

Beau has arrived in the UK today and will go into the 1st XI to face Gidea Park and Romford in the local derby this weekend.

29 year old Beau hails from Hobart, Tasmania and has been a regular in his home state's Sheffield Shield side for nearly a decade.  In first class cricket he has scored over 3.000 runs at an average of nearly 33, as well as taking 86 wickets with a mixture of right arm off spin and medium pacers, a unique combination that we hope will prove useful this summer.  Beau has also been a familiar face in the Big Bash League over the past seven seasons, representing his local side the Hobart Hurricanes back in 2016/2017 before moving on to play for both the Melbourne Renegades and more recently the Melbourne Stars.

Beau will become the first Australian to represent the club since Leon Downie in 2012, and the third in all after Downie and Western Australian legend Lorne Sprigg.  We hope Beau can continue the form he showed back home at the end of the season, where he finished the campaign by making 168 not out and 40 for Tasmania against Queensland.

We are sure all members and friends of the club will join us in welcoming Beau to RM14, and wish him all the best for the coming months.
