In relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have now received communications from the ECB, and provide an update on the current status impacting our club.

All recreational cricket has been suspended with immediate effect and this includes all playing, training and social events. This measure has been put in place by the ECB until further notice, and has been universally adopted by all of the leagues and bodies with whom we play.

As we find out more detailed information with regard to timings and the impact on the 2020 season this will be communicated to everyone.

Upminster Cricket Club is a big family, and for many of our members it is a primary source of their sporting activity, community volunteering, and also friendship. We encourage all of our members to make the effort to stay in contact with each other and help keep morale high over what will be a challenging period of time ahead. Particularly we ask our members to be considerate towards those most impacted by this outbreak.

You will appreciate that the potential loss of part of the cricket season will have significant financial implications to the Pavilion Club, and indeed will the cancellation of the end of the current hockey season. Once we are given the green light we hope all members will return to support the club in the usual way.

We will be working with our coaches to help deliver some “online” exercise programs and challenges for our junior cricketers (and the keen senior ones) and you will be able to share your experiences of these through our social media accounts. Watch this space for updates!!
