Super Sunday this weekend, with 10 colts games throughout the day

It will be a busy Sunday for our junior sides this week, with TEN games taking place in a number of different competitions.

Our U8/U9Bs will get things started as they visit Oakfield Parkonians in the Don Coates (Met) Trophy (9.30am). Upminster have two wins from two so far in the competition so will be looking to stay at the top of their group, but Parks will provide tough opposition.

At the same time the U9s will entertain Leyton Wicketz at Campion in the same competition (9.30am). The U9s have played just one game in the Don Coates so far this term, a win at Neo, so they will be hoping to make it two out of two. After that contest the U9s will stay at Campion to take on South Weald in the Central Cup (2.00pm). The same two sides met in the Central League last Thursday (at South Weald) and Upminster came out on top, so Weald will be looking to make amends this time out.

The 10/U11B side welcome Barking to Coopers School in the Haydn Davies Trophy (9.30am). Upminster won on the opening day of the season at Woodford Wells, but lost out last week to an excellent South Loughton side. Meanwhile the U11s will travel to West Essex in the same competition (9.30am). Upminster won their opening game of the tournament last Sunday, but West have also started the season well, so this should be a good contest. Upminster will then need to rush back down the A12 as they face a Central Cup tie against Billericay at Coopers School (2.00pm). This game is a repeat of the Central Indoor League Final in February, which ended in a Billericay win.

The U13s welcome Oakfield Parkonians to Upminster Park in the Len Stentiford (Met) Trophy (9.30am). Upminster lost out to Hornchurch in the Havering League in the week, but in this competition they have two wins out of two so far and will be looking to continue that good form. Also at 9.30am, the U15s will host South Loughton at Coopers School. Both sides are unbeaten in the Cox and Kings Trophy in 2022 so this looks like being a tight affair.

Thursday night saw the U13 Girls pick up a memorable three run win against Wanstead and Snaresbrook in the WEG League and they return to action on Sunday morning (9.30am) at Coopers with a Central Softball League contest against Shenfield.

And starting and finishing the weekend's action are the U11 Girls. They play Wanstead and Snaresbrook in the WEG League on Saturday morning (9.15am), before taking on Shenfield in the Central U9 Boys League on Sunday afternoon at Coopers (1.30pm).

Good luck to all of our sides, and thank you to all the coaches, managers, scorers, umpires, helpers and parents who make junior cricket at the club possible.
