CENTRAL CUP DRAWS - 2026

CENTRAL CUP DRAWS - 2026

Paul Middlemiss20 Mar - 13:09

Junior sides find out opponents for Central knockout comps

This week saw the draws take place for the majority of the Central Board Cup competitions that our junior sides will take part in during 2026. Draws for the girls’ cup competitions will take place later this month.

Our U17s face a local derby against Hornchurch in the first round of their cup competition. Whoever wins that contest at Harrow Lodge Park will then be at home to Gidea Park & Romford or Shenfield in the semi-finals. Upminster have claimed the Central U17 Cup in the previous two seasons so they will be hoping for more success in this event in 2026.

There was also a tough looking draw for our U15s who were drawn away to Brentwood in the first round of the U15s Cup, with the winners of that contest travelling to Hornchurch or Shenfield in the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, the U14s were given a bye in the first round of their age-group cup, and they will then entertain Great Baddow in the quarter-finals.

Our U13s for 2026 have enjoyed huge success in recent seasons at their previous age-groups, but they will need to be on top of their game in this year’s Central U13 Cup. They will travel to Springfield for a challenging first round contest and should they reach the next stage they will then host Broomfield or Billericay. Meanwhile in the U12s competition Upminster will entertain Writtle in the opening round with the winners of that match then at home to Shenfield or Billericay in the quarter-finals.

There is a sense of déjà vu for our U11s with their draw for the 2026 Central U11 Cup. They have been drawn away to Billericay who they also played in the first round of the Central Cup in the two previous summers (in 2025 as U10s and in 2024 as U9s). Upminster will be hoping to reverse their losses from those two games and progress to a home quarter-final against either Hornchurch or Writtle.

Our U10s will travel to Galleywood in the first round of their cup competition, with the winners welcoming Hornchurch Athletic in the quarter-finals, while the U9s will entertain Bentley in the U9s Cup with Writtle or Brentwood lying in wait in the semi-finals. And finally, in the U9s Softball Cup Upminster will travel to Maldon in the quarter-finals and should they win that tie they will face Chelmsford or Billericay in the next stage.

Please keep your eye on the club’s PlayCricket platform, website and social media platforms for further dates and fixture information over the coming weeks.
