Players and teams from across the club nominated for playing gongs

Saturday evening's annual Dinner and Dance saw the announcement of the winners of the club's annual playing awards.

The President's Trophy for Batter of the Year was won by 3rd XI skipper Dan Simpson.  Simpson enjoyed an excellent season opening the batting for the 3rd XI as they finished third in the Premier Division table.  The elegant right hander made over 800 runs, including three centuries to deservedly take the club's batting honours.  Other nominations for the award were Pulkit Gupta, Aki Rahman, Ian Munn, Matthew Ingleson and Harry Lawes.

2nd XI captain Nicky Ison retained the Colin Hart Bowler of the Year award.  The off-spinner took 34 league wickets, and 44 in all cricket to win the award for a second successive season.  Ison's performances with the ball helped the 2nd XI to finish as runners-up in the Premier Division, their highest ever finish.  Also nominated for the award were Nehal Butt, Kevin Roome, Tom Young, Shrey Shah and Thomas Cargill.

Club stalwart Rob Mack was the deserved winner of the Fielder of the Year title.  Mack played in four different Saturday sides during the season, but no matter the level, his whole hearted performances in the field helped him to scoop the prize.  Stu Connor, Ellis Pickering, Alex Ward, Oliver Ward and Stanley Moore were also nominated for the award.

Joshan Narbheram was named as the winner of the John Nash Colt of the Year trophy.  Narbheram has made huge progress in recent seasons, and the all rounder put in a number of eye-catching performances to end the season as a regular in the senior 3rd XI. He was also a member of the club's U15s who reached the final of both the Cox and Kings Trophy and Central Cup.  Also nominated for the award were Harry Lawes, Coco Thomas, Tom Young, Mit Shah and Oliver Burley.

The Girls U13s were the first female winners of the John Dean Team of the Year accolade.  The side, most of whom have only been playing for two seasons, upset the odds to claim the U13s County Cup with a tense win over Hutton in August.  They also finished in mid-table in the Havering League, and a number of the squad also played a part in the U12s winning the Central Softball U12s girls league.  Also nominated for this honour were the Boys U9s, the Boys U15s, the senior 2nd XI and the senior 5th XI who all enjoyed hugely successful seasons.
