ALFIE JAMES SCORES TON ON A RAIN EFFECTED SATURDAY

The 1st XI Divison One Champions final game was eventually abandoned just as Will Chuter was about to score a surprising ton. Harry Jenkins bowled a superb new-ball spell and was unlucky not to pick up a few wickets. Shafiq Rahman picked up 3 wickets as Harlow notched up 239. Will Chuter opened batting for the 1st XI after only scoring two league runs all year and smashed his way to a confident 29* before the rain pulled curtains on his innings.

The 2nd XI final league game of the season was also abandoned as the rain fell heavy over Upminster Park. Inventive captain Nicky Ison used all ten bowlers possible as Ilford smashed their way to 274. Jack O'Dowd took three wickets with Mark Schofield also collecting two. Matthew Jahanfar and Nicky Ison both hit 25 in reply before the duke came to end play.
Final Position: 5th

Alfie James hit his second 3rd XI ton of the season as Upminster drew with champions Wanstead. Upminster declared on a very impressive 256/4 as Alfie was eventually dismissed for 125. Wanstead were 130/3 in reply before the rain came.
Final Position: 3rd

Top Wicket Taker: M D'Cruz/A.Berry 22

The 4th XI couldn't pull off the result they needed to save themselves from relegation as Southend blocked out for the draw. Alex Mitchell continued his good run with 62 as Upminster declared on 163/4 off 47 overs. Karim Govani struck twice in the first over but Upminster only managed to get one more wicket as Southend survived 34 overs for 59 runs.

Joe Simpson top-scored for the 5th XI on Saturday as they fell to a seven wicket defeat at Shenfield. Mark Hortop also made 34 as Upminster were bowled out for 137. Ansar Khan took two wickets in reply but Shenfield reached their target with ease.
Final Position: 2nd
Top Run-Scorer: P.Middlemiss- 330
Top Wicket Taker: N.Bright-22

The 6th XI also succumbed to a seven wicket defeat in their final league game against Gidea Park. UCC Legend Paul Hogg was the main destroyer as he took 3 wickets and smashed his way to 93*, his son Matthew also picked up three wickets. George Sadek showed his continuing batting potential as he scored another half-century.
Final Position: 6th
