Upminster's three sides have all been in action recently in the Havering Indoor League.

The 'A' team have unfortunately lost their last two games and have slipped into mid-tabe in Division One.  In their last game against South Woodford the team slipped to a 20 run defeat against South Woodford, despite a late flurry with the bat from Adam Quested.

Scott Hammond's 'B' team have also slipped into mid-table following defeats against Gidea Park and Rainham in their last two games.  Against Rainham there were promising performances from youngsters Nickhil Mayor and Will Bottoms, but Upminster went down by 3 wickets.

The 'C' team are still looking for their first win of the season in Division 3.  Karim Govani's young side have put in some promising performances but are yet to get off the mark.  They will hope to pick up their first victory this Sunday when they face Rainham 'B'.

If anyone is interested in playing in the Indoor League, please contact Scott Hammond or Karim Govani.  Games take place on Sunday afternoons at St Edward's School, Romford.

Alan Ison has made two appearances for South Perth in his first week at the Club.

Ison is staying with former Upminster Overseas Star Lorne Sprigg, in order to improve his game over the winter.

Last Saturday Ison made his debut and was unfortunately out for 0. However, he produced excellent figures of 9 overs, 2 maidens, 1 for 25 with the ball.

Then on Wednesday Ison starred with the bat, making a rapid 34 from 20 balls at the end of the South innings.

SIR IAN BOTHAM'S WALK FOR LEUKAEMIA 2010 - APRIL 18th - HYLANDS PARK, CHELMSFORD PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Sunday, 17 January 2010 12:05

This year Sir Ian walks again for Leukaemia Research. It is the 25th anniversary since his first walk, and Leukaemia Research 50th anniversary, so a special year. He will walk through 10 towns in 10 days and each day he can be joined in a park walk by the general public.

We want as many people, cricket clubs and schools to "Walk with Beefy" as possible. Therefore any help you can give to promote this event would be fantastic.

Essentially what we need is for teams to register at www.beefy25.com. Each player registers individually at a cost of £10, and you can form into teams on the day. You will receive a t-shirt and a medal to remember the day by.

If anyone has any further questions then please contact David Blanford at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
