Youngsters hold their nerve to claim 25 run victory

Upminster held their nerve to claim the Don Coates Trophy with a 25 run victory over Buckhurst Hill on Sunday morning.

Batting first Upminster showed great determination and skill to avoid losing wickets and keep the scoreboard ticking. They eventually finished on a terriers score of 305-3 (for a net score of 290).

In reply some tight bowling early on kept Upminster in control and then Marsha Edinburgh's side kept their nerve as the game neared it's conclusion, executing three crucial run outs as Hill finished on a terriers score of 305-8 (for a net score of 265).

Congratulations to Marsha and the boys on their win and for going the entire season unbeaten in all competitions. Congratulations also to Buckhurst Hill on reaching the final and putting in an excellent display. The game was played in a tremendous spirit throughout and both sides were a credit to their clubs.
