1s, 3s & Sunday friendly side all claim victories

The Sunday League side started their season with victory against Goresbrook by 51 runs. Batting first Alan Ison hit 84 whilst 4 other batsman contributed 20+ run scores in a total of 232/9. Goresbrook lost early wickets to Louis Pickering and Billy Wright and were kept in check through some tight Upminster bowling, Danny Gillham hit 66 but the increasing run rate proved too much. The Sunday friendly side kept their winning streak going with another thrilling victory against North Enfield. Max Carter-Miller hit 52 in a important partnership with Nathan Brown (26) but despite this were looking at a below par score before Ben Hamberger hit the final 3 balls of the innings for 16 runs to score 181/9. North Enfield batted positively with captain Sanders hitting 66, debutant Shreyansh Shan (2/24) and captain Dave Brown bowled the final 10 overs and managed to claim a 4 run victory despite the positive hitting of the North Enfield youngsters Scorecard

On a heavily rain affected Saturday there was a narrow win for the 1st XI, defeat for the 2nd XI at Benfleet (Scorecard) whilst the 3rd XI defeated Wanstead & Snaresbrook thanks to a 109 run between Ben Calder who hit a personal best of 89 and Alex Bottoms (44*). Scorecard
