First games of the season at HQ will take place on Saturday and Sunday

After last week’s promising 1st and 2nd XI performances against Brentwood, three sides will be in action this coming Saturday. At Upminster Park Alan Ison’s side will face Orsett & Thurrock in a friendly starting at 12.30pm. The two sides met in a “pre-season” friendly last July when Orsett won a tight contest. Ison’s men will be looking to build on last week’s performance ahead of next Saturday’s League Cup tie with Gidea Park & Romford. The ground at the park is looking in fantastic condition thanks to the work of Mark Severn and Rob Mack and it will be great to see the 1st XI back out there in action.

The 2nd and 3rd XIs will make the journey in the opposite direction as they travel to School Lane to face the same opposition. The 2nd XI performed well in defeat at Brentwood last week while this will be the first outing of 2021 for the 3rd XI under new captain Andrew Berry.

All three games will pause between 3.00pm and 4.00pm for the funeral of HRH Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, in order to allow all players and officials to pay their respects.

The cricket action continues on Sunday when the Friendly XI welcome Palm Tree CC to Upminster Park. This will be the first time we have played Palm Tree and we look forward to hosting them.

All members, officials, colts, colts parents, Vice-Presidents and supporters of the club are asked to once again read the club’s latest COVID-19 policy ahead of the weekend:
