What a night it was over Upminster Park on Wednesday the 3rd of August as the Apple Finance Firebirds picked up their first Windmill Whack victory. Andrew D'Cruz (21) and James Evans (22) got the Firebirds off to a swashbuckling start, scoring at ten an over. The Costcutter Cobras kept picking up wickets, with Tom Larke and Billy Wright both taking two wickets each. Nicky Ison top-scored for the Firebirds with 24 in their total of 145/8.

The owners offspring got the Firebirds off to a perfect start in reply, breaking the defenses of Alfie James in the first over. The Firebirds bowlers all bowled tight as they rate kept creeping up and soon they found their rewards with Sagoo, Ison and Heazel all picking up two wickets each. Eventually the Firebirds sailed home to a very straightforward 48 run victory.
