A brilliant unbeaten 118 from Gus Siggins was the highlight of Sunday’s colts games, and helped the U12s to an impressive victory over Brentwood in the Brian Taylor Trophy. Upminster were 29-2 when Jamie Green joined Siggins at the crease, and the pair put on 101 for the third wicket. Green fell for an impressive 58, but Siggins continued and made his first ton for the Club. He and Oliver Ward shared in an unbroken fifth wicket stand of 81 as Upminster closed on 217-4 from their 25 overs. Green (three wickets) and Siggins (two wickets) then impressed with the ball as well, and with Jack Hayward and Joseph Farrell also amongst the wickets Brentwood were restricted to 115-8, to give Upminster victory by 102 runs.

There was also a victory over Brentwood for the U11s in the Central League. They won by 35 runs to avenge their defeat at the hands of the same opposition in the Central Cup earlier in the season. Upminster batted first and posted a net total of 305 with excellent contributions from James Cargill and Joe Hibell. In response Upminster picked up 11 Brentwood wickets to restrict their opponents to a net total of 270. Henry Curtis returned excellent figures of 3-8 as his side put in an excellent bowling and fielding performance to claim victory.

The U13s also came out on top in their Havering League encounter with Hornchurch. Harry King and George King both reached the retirement mark of 25 as Upminster started well, and Callum Berry also contributed as the visitors piled up 175-7 from 20 overs. In response Oliver Grundy, Tommy Barnacle and Dillion Colar all passed 20 for Hornchurch, but some excellent bowling from Ethan Berry, George King and Ryan Oakes restricted the home side to 133-6 to give Upminster a win by 42 runs.

There was a narrow defeat for the U9s in their latest Don Coates Trophy match at Newham. Newham made a net score of 260 and Upminster replied with a net total of 241 meaning Newham ran out winners by 19 runs.
