Five wicket hauls for Nabeel, Wright & Scott

The 1st XI picked up back to back wins as they defeated Gidea Park and Romford at Upminster Park. Shahbaz and Farid set the tone putting on 50 for the first wicket. Park dragged things back through Aditya Kumar (5/32) reducing the 1s to 162/7 before UCC veteran Shafiq Rahman (43*) with help from Ejaz (23) and John Curtis (18) pushed the final total to 241/9.

In reply Ejaz took the wickets of the Park openers before Jamal Francis & Phillips rebuilt with a 50 partnership. Nabeel Aziz then entered the fray dismissing both and helped in reducing Park from 69/2 to 103 all out for a 138 victory. (Scorecard)

Billy Wright starred for the 2s at Hornchurch in taking 5/34 as Hornchurch were dismissed for 132. Wright was backed up by the other bowlers who all took wickets. In reply the UCC batsman all made solid scores in chasing the total down for the loss of 3 wickets. (Scorecard)

The 3rd XIs excellent recent run came to an end against Wanstead. Wanstead batting first scored 243/6 with Hugh Anderson-Elliott top scoring with 86. In reply 5 Upminster batsman made it past 20 but none could go on with Josh Lamonts 46 the top score as fell to a 29 run loss. (Scorecard)

The 4th XI also fell to defeat against Wanstead at Nutter Lane. Wanstead totalled 238/9 and struck early in teh 4s reply taking 2 wickets in the first over. Matt McCarthy (48) and Ellis Pickering put on xx in rebuilding the innings before the tight Wanstead bowling took the total beyond reach and Upminster fininshing on 189/8. (Scorecard)

5th XI dismissed Ilford 4s for just 125 with Karim Govani and Will Bottoms both taking 3 wickets. The total was chased down for the loss of just 2 wickets with Joe Simpson hitting 51. (Scorecard)

The 6th XI broke their duck for the season withc victory against Harold Wood 5s. Batting first the 6s recovered from 62/3 to post 238 off their 40 overs. Martin Davis (77), Sam Langston (63), Matt Malby (30*)& Glen Cargill (27*) top scoring. In reply Wood started well but ended up mesmerised by the Spin of captain Paul Scott taking 5/28 and leading the 6s to a 81 run win. (Scorecard)

The Sunday 1s triumphed in the final over of their league game vs Waltham. Tight Upminster bowling restricted Waltham to 209, in reply wickets fell at regular intervals but partnership between Louis Pickering and Nathan Woods helped to get back in the chase before some late hitting from the middle order and Josh Lamont (44*) sealed a thrilling victory with 5 balls to spare.
