2nd XI travel to Ilford while table topping 3s face local derby

After defeat at Gallows Corner last week, Nicky Ison’s men are back on home turf as they look to pick up their first league win of the season. Hainault and Clayhall, also without a win so far, come to Upminster Park for the first time since 2015. Hainault gained promotion from Division Two last season and will also be looking to move away from the bottom end of the table.

The 2nd XI travel to Ilford in the Premier Division and they are also looking for a first win of the season. They opened the season with a rain affected draw at Harold Wood, before falling to a heavy defeat against Hornchurch last time out. Ilford have started the season with one win and one abandoned game and sit in mid-table. Harry Jenkins and captain Ollie Peck return for Upminster.

The table topping 3rd XI make the short trip to Harold Wood on the hunt for a third consecutive Premier Division win. Last week Josh Lamont’s side picked up a remarkable one wicket win at Wanstead, and this followed an opening day victory over Harlow. Wood are without a win at present and will be looking to move off the foot of the table.

The 4th XI suffered a narrow defeat to Wanstead last week, after looking set for victory, and they will be looking to pick up the points as they welcome Wickford to Coopers School. It won’t be easy though, with Wickford currently sitting in second place. Rob Bannister makes his first appearance of the season for the home side.

The 5th XI have also started the season in positive fashion, but they face an early season test as they travel to top of the table West Essex 3s. Karim Govani’s team picked up an excellent win last week against Ilford and will be looking to keep up their good form.

Unfortunately the 6th XI have regrettably had to concede their game against Wanstead due to lack of availability.

All SNEL games will begin at 12.30pm.

Sunday sees the Sunday League side continue their campaign with a home game against Benfleet (1pm) while the Sunday 2nd XI make the trip for Orsett and Thurrock for a friendly (2pm).

Monday sees T20 action at Upminster Park, as UCC host one of the Dukes Essex League T20 Groups. Three games will take place during the day with the host club getting things underway at 10.30am with a contest against Hadleigh and Thundersley. Following that (1.30pm) Billericay face reigning champions Wanstead and Snaresbrook, and the two winners will then face off for a place in Finals Day at 4.30pm.
