With a number of players unavailable it seemed like it may be a tough afternoon for the club. But three wins and a draw from the six league games played was an excellent effort from everyone involved.

Leading the way were the 1st XI, who eased past Ilford at Upminster Park. Having won the toss, Ilford had raced to 32-0 when the game was then turned on its head. Nehal Butt removed the dangerous Mohammad Ahktar for 28 and Butt and JJ Smuts then proceeded to run through the visitors' batting line up. Butt finished with figures of 5-58 and Smuts claimed 5-43 as Upminster took control, with only Nigel Jacobs (32) showing any resistance. Ilford were all out for 106 and Smuts then got the Upminster reply off to a flying start despite losing opening partner Pulkit Gupta early on. The South African cruised past 50 and ended on an unbeaten 78, from just 45 balls, as Upminster rushed to an eight wicket win.

Aki Rahman made a brilliant century and Michael Rath rolled back the years as the 2nd XI drew with their Ilford counterparts at Valentines Park. Rahman and Rath put on 131 for the second wicket as Upminster piled up the runs having won the toss and decided to bat first. Rath eventually fell for 85 but Rahman ended on an unbeaten 101 as the visitors reached 242-8. Aaditya Tiwari claimed 5-45 for Ilford. Ilford looked in a good position having reached 84-1 in their reply, but Rohan Mayor and Jeff Mack claimed crucial breakthroughs before Alfie Horan's spin turned things Upminster's way. The game still looked likely to end in a draw before two wickets in an over from Mack gave Upminster hope, but despite that Ilford closed on 222-8.

A solid all round performance from the 3rd XI saw them maintain their lead at the top of the table as they won at Frenford. The Frenford opening pair put on 84 for the first wicket, but once Joshan Narbheram had made the breakthrough Upminster fought-back. Kevin Roome produced a fine 16 over spell to pick up 4-42, while Glen Noller claimed four wickets as Frenford were bowled out in the final over for 213. Mit Shah and Kevin McNeela put on 50 for the first Upminster wicket, and McNeela went on to make an excellent half century as Upminster got into a good position. Gus Siggins looked in good touch before falling for 27, but Pete Thompson and Sam Twine ensured the run rate stayed under control as they peppered the boundaries. Thompson fell for 43 but Twine remained to the end, finishing on 36 not out as Upminster won by five wickets.

The 4th XI suffered a narrow defeat in their home contest with Billericay. Captain Ian Munn made 36 to get his side off to a good start, and there were also excellent middle order contributions from Rob O'Brien, Jake Giddings and Nathan French as Upminster made 198-9. Ricay's reply got off to a rapid start, but Upminster kept taking wickets to stay in the game. Munn claimed four victims in the middle order, and when Ricay fell to 139-8 Upminster sensed a much needed victory. Luke Wells had other ideas though, and his 41 not out helped Ricay to a one wicket win.

The 5th XI stayed in the title race with a brilliant win against fellow promotion hopefuls West Essex. Hadi Ismail got West off to a good start with a well made 89 but Leo Fevzi-Hunt bowled superbly for Upminster, claiming 4-52 to keep his side in the game. Some late hitting from the West lower order lifted their total to 223-9. The returning Rafe Smallman and Matt Ingleson got Upminster's reply off to a great start with Smallman going on to make an excellent 69. 13 year old Ethan Berry made 37 to keep Upminster on track and an unbeaten 41 from Ben Hamberger saw Upminster to a brilliant three wicket win.

Despite a defeat, one of the performances of the day came from the 6th XI, who put up a brilliant fight against run away league leaders Ilford 4s. Runs from Ray Calder, James Burchell, George Walshe, Thomas Cargill and Sanjay Narbheram ensured Calder's side claimed maximum batting points as they closed on 204-9. Youngsters Stanley Moore, Joseph Brooks and Harry Coles then all bowled superbly to keep Upminster in the game before Ilford eventually won by four wickets.
