The Upminster Hunter's kept up their 100% start to the indoor season with a comfortable win over Great Totham on Sunday. In their first fixture at Shenfield High School, Upminster won the toss and elected to bat first, and they saw Adam Quested and Ellis Pickering make a brilliant start as both players scored at a good rate and reached the retirement mark. Scott Fisher kept the scoreboard moving with 14 and then Nicky Ison and John Curtis added some late impetus. Curtis made a typically brutal 23 and Ison reached the retirement mark as Upminster closed on 131-3 from their 12 overs.
Totham made a good start to their reply and although Curtis bowled tightly some wayward bowling at the "other end" kept the chase interesting. The first three Totham batsmen all reached the retirement mark but a tight spell from captain Ison turned the game back in Upminster's favour, and although Totham kept fighting to the end it was not enough as they finished on 116-1, the wicket going to Ellis Pickering.
