Indoor competition returns to the Riverside Leisure Centre, Chelmsford

This Sunday sees the return of the adult indoor season with the Upminster Hunters and Upminster Tandoori Boys both competing in Division A this winter. After a year spent playing at Shenfield School and Anglo-European School, the competition returns to the newly refurbished Riverside Leisure Centre in Chelmsford which is a fantastic facility and usually provides high scoring indoor games.

The 2018 champions Upminster Hunters opening game will be at 5pm against 2017 champions Willingale, whilst the newly promoted Upminster Tandoori Boys will take on Galleywood at 6pm.

2017/2018 indoor campaign was a very successful one for the two indoor teams with three out of the four trophies coming to Upminster, with the Billy Wright led Tandoori Boys picking up an infamous double. Louis Pickering led the way with the bat for the Hunters last season, scoring 289 runs. Billy Wright and Ian Munn topped the charts for the Tandoori Boys with 201 runs each. Ellis Pickering proved to be invaluable with the ball as he took 15 wickets last season, whilst incredibly John Curtis only went at 3.96 an over.

Both squads have been increased this winter with James Aggio-Brewe joining the Hunters along with Harvey Daniels. The Tandoori Boys have retained Alan Ison whilst also adding Stu Connor and Dan Simpson.

Hopefully we will see some new faces from the U13/14s also playing some part over the winter and if anyone else has real interest in playing then please contact Nicky Ison or Billy Wright.

Date for your calendar- 12th January- 8pm- Upminster Hunters v Upminster Tandoori Boys.
