UPMINSTER WIN RIVERSIDE JUNIOR CUP

Indoor team achieve promotion and cup double.

The Upminster Indoor team defeated Chelmsford Tigers on Sunday to lift the Junior Cup for the first time in the clubs history. Upminster won the toss and chose to bat first in the final and after a slow-ish start, the Whetstone brothers eventually got the innings going with Connor being the aggressor. Julian and Connor both retired after reaching 27 and with Alan Ison (15) and John Curtis (12*) chipping in also, Upminster finished on 116 in their 12 overs.

After starring with the bat, Connor did the damage with the ball taking 3 wickets in two overs to all but secure Upminster the cup victory. Oliver White picked up the final two wickets with stand in keeper Alan Ison taking two one hand snares.

Indoor Season Stats:
Louis Pickering- 282 runs & 7 wickets
Julian Whetstone- 216 runs & 10 wickets
Adam Quested- 201 runs
