Squance and Peck take bowling honours with 6 and 5 wicket hauls

The 1st eleven had to settle for a draw with Southend despite a 3rd hundred this season from Shahbaz Butt. Having won the toss Shabhaz and Shafiq Rahman (66) piled on the runs for the 1st wicket with a 160 run partnership. Contributions from Frankie Hazle (34) & Harry Jenkins (26*) along with 35 extras helped post a total of 282/6
In reply Southend lost early wickets to John Curtis (2/38) and Will Chuter. The Southend middle order served to frustrate the Upminster attack despite the efforts of Connor Whetstone (3/88) and Matt Tigg (2/37). Callum Druce hit 64 not out to help secure the draw

The 2s also had to settle for a draw against Southend. James Aggio-Brewe top scored with 44 whilst Arun Kullar hit 26 in a total of 168. In reply Southend fell to 92/6 before shutting up shop for the draw with a total of 126/7 Aggio-Brewe (2/22) and CHris Ryan (2/23) leading the Upminster bowling

Stand in skipper Ollie Peck lead the 3s to their 3rd succesive win in a close encounter with Chelmsford. Peck himself lead the way with the ball taking 5/22 as Chelmsford were skittled out for 119 with only Sam Trowells 63 a significant contribution. Chelmsford took early wickets in the Upminster chase before veteran Bobby Mack helped steady the ship with 31 not out for a 3 wicket victory

In the reverse fixture the 4s fell to a narrow 2 wicket defeat. Chelmsford took 6 early wickets with only Kiran Kullars 40 contributing to the half way score of 65/6. Ollie White (48) & Tom Daniels helped reverse the slide and some late hitting took Upminster past 150. White took 4 wickets in an excellent all round display but a number of dropped catches cost the side as Chelmsford got through by 2 wickets.

Ansar Khan was the batting hero for the 5th XI against Oakfield Parkonians 3s Paul Stratton and Paul Middlemiss made a solid start before wickets put the side at 147/6 before Ansar helped propel the side to 216/7 with a flurry of boundaries. Jamie Squance took the bowling honours for the weekend with 6/36 from 9 overs taking out the Parks top order and then the tail.

The 6s drew against Parks 4th XI. Casey Adams (34) and Sohail Iqbal (32) top scored in a total of 181 all out. In reply Max Gordon, Iqbal and skipper Paul Scott all took wickets as Parks held out for the draw 7 wickets down for 115 runs
