Disappointment in County Play off match

The indoor league season continued on Sunday with victories for both the Upminster Hunters and the Tandoori Boys

The Hunters kept their hopes of making the top half when the league splits next week with a convincing victory against Springfield. Springfield won the toss and started strongly reaching 35/0 before Ellis Pickering and Will Bottoms took 3 quick wickets. Springfield recovered well through Charlie Prudence (42*) to reach 95/4 from their 12 overs.

In reply Pickering was dismissed early before John Curtis and Louis Pickering rebuilt both reaching the retirement mark of 25. Skipper Nicky Ison (27*) saw the match through with the Hunters winning comfortably in the 9th over. (Scorecard)

The Tandoori Boys were involved in a thrilling match against Galleywood. Ryan Brown and a run out reduced Galleywood to 27/2 before a captains knock of 40 from captain Nick Claydon took Wood to 96 off their 12 overs.

The reply saw a poor start as Paul Middlemiss, Billy Wright and Alan Ison fell to leave the Boys 28/3. Ian Munn and Nathan Bright rebuilt both reaching the retirement mark of 25. Munn returned to the crease and was run out for 28 leaving Bright and Brown to score 11 runs off the final over. The tandoori Boys reached the winning target with a ball to spare with Bright 30 not out. (Scorecard)

In the 3rd indoor match of the day there was disappointment in the county play off game at the County Ground against Matching Green CC. Green scored 162/1 off their 12 overs whilst in reply Upminster could only score 126 despite 63 for Louis Pickering. (Scorecard)
