We are delighted that once again Ravi Bopara is set to star for Essex in the Annual Benefit Match at Upminster Park. Ravi has played in the fixture on many occasions and hosted his own Benefit Match at the ground in August 2015. Despite being one of the most recognisable faces in World cricket Ravi always takes time to chat to members and our junior players and has entertained the crowd with many sparkling knocks during these games.

Joining Ravi will be Matt Quinn, who is set to make his first appearance in RM14. Matt is in his third season with the County and also plays for Auckland in New Zealand in the Winter months.

And the final player in the Essex squad is Paul Walter. Paul came through the youth system at Billericay CC before making his breakthrough with the County. He has enjoyed an excellent year with the County, breaking records with the bat in the 2nd XI, and moved up to open the batting in the T20 competition. Paul has played in recent games at Upminster Park and his positive approach to the game is always a hit with the large crowds.

We look forward to welcoming all of the Essex squad on Sunday...........hopefully on the back of a win against Hampshire over the next two days.

Don't forget, this Year's contest begins at 3.00pm, with ladies and junior events taking place from 11.00am. Beer tent, BBQ, ice cream van and tea tent all available from noon. Entrance by programme, available on day or in advance priced at £2.50.
