Multiple age groups in line for honours as season moves into final phase

As we near the end of July, we are pleased to report that a number of our colts sides remain in contention for honours across a number of competitions.  Our junior sides have now played 179 games between them, but we hope there will be many more before the season is completed.

OLDER GIRLS:
Leading the way have been our girls sides, with our older girls team having already played 26 games, picking up 14 wins so far, as well as being part of a terrific tied match with Orsett and Thurrock U11 boys in the Havering League.  In the newly formed WEG (West Essex Girls) Leagues the side have performed well and remain in the chase for honours in both the friendly and competitive divisions, while in the Boys U11 Havering League the team have exceeded expectations, claiming two wins a tie so far.  Some of their best performances though have been reserved for the Central Girls Softball League, where they remain unbeaten in the six games they have played.  More than 25 girls have played in games for this squad so far, which is a brilliant effort when you consider the girls section was only formally formed just over two years ago.

Still To Play For
U12 Central Softball League (currently 1st/5)
WEG Friendly League (currently 2nd/11)
WEG League (currently 2nd/5)
Havering U11 Boys League (5th/11)

YOUNGER GIRLS:
Our younger girls sides have also been busy in a number of competitions, with 15 games played in total, 8 of them ending in victories.  In the Havering U9s boys league they have been in good form with two victories to date, while in the Central Girls Softball League they are currently in second place in the table, despite being up against a number of older sides.  More than 25 girls have already played in games so far this season, and a number of our U8 and U7 girls will get to take part in games against other clubs for the first time in the coming weeks, with a number of softball friendlies arranged.

Still To Play For:
U12 Central Softball League (currently 2nd/5)
WEG Friendly League (currently 3rd/11)

U15 BOYS:
Sunday morning saw the U15s progress to the Central Board Cup Final after a 10 wicket win over Chelmsford.  They will now face Billericay, Shenfield of Harold Wood in the showpiece final on 4th September.  The squad are also through to the knockout stages of the Cox and Kings Trophy (Met area) after topping their group with four wins from four.  They will entertain Woodford Wells in the quarter finals of that event on 21st of August.  There is still plenty of league action for the team to concentrate on as well, as they face a busy few weeks in the Central and Havering leagues, as they look to climb up the tables in these competitions.

Still To Play For:
Central Cup (Final, 4th Sept)
Cox and Kings Trophy (Quarter Final, 21st Aug)
Central League (currently 3rd/7)
Haveing League (currently 3rd/10)

U13 BOYS:
A defeat on Sunday morning to neighbours Harold Wood put a dent into the U13's hopes of retaining their Central West Division title.  They remain top of the table but will need to win their last game against Shenfield and then hope other results go their way.  In the Central Cup the team are waiting to see who they face in the semi-finals, having progressed to that stage themselves with a fine win against Chelmsford.  In the Len Stentiford Trophy it is crunch time next weekend as we welcome Frenford to Upminster for the final game in Group 3, where the winners know they will progress to the knockout stages.  Upminster have won three of their four group games so far, while Frenford have won two of their three.  The side have also won two and lost two in their four Havering League games, meaning they sit fifth in the table at the present time.

Still To Play For:
Len Stentiford Trophy Group 3 (currently 2nd/6)
Central Cup (Semi Final, date TBC)
Central League West (currently 1st/10)
Haveing League (currently 5th/9)

U10/U11 BOYS:
It's been a busy season for the U10s and U11s squad, with 41 games played so far, across a number of competitions.  48 boys and girls have played in games so far from this squad which is an amazing number.  The side were knocked out of the Central Cup in the first round by an excellent Billericay side, but in a number of other competitions they have performed well, with two sides still in the mix in the Haydn Davies Trophy (Met) and two teams still at the top end of the Havering League.  The game of the season so far came in the Haydn Davies Trophy with a thrilling one run win coming against Woodford Green.

Still To Play For:
U11s, Central League (currently 2nd/7)
U11s, Central West League (currently 1st/8)
U11s, Havering League (currently 1st/11)
U11s, Hadyn Davies Trophy Group A (currently 2nd/7)
U11s, Haydn Davies Trophy Group B (currently 2nd/8)
U10s, Central U10s Hardball League (currently 3rd/8)
U10s, Central U10s Softball League (currently 4th/7)

U8/U9 BOYS:
With nearly 60 games already played, and more than 45 boys and girls having already represented the club, the busiest squad of the season so far have been out U8s and U9s.  They have so far won 47 matches across a number of competitions, as well as playing a number of other clubs in some excellent friendly matches.  The sides at this age group have been playing a mix of softball and hardball games, meaning there has been an appropriate level of matches for every member of the squad.  In the Havering League the U9s went unbeaten through all of their eight games, while in the Central competitions the squad have reached the Central Cup Final on 4th September, as well as being in contention in three of the league competitions.  They have also progressed to the knockout stages of the Don Coates Trophy (Met).

Still To Play For:
Central Cup (Final, 4th Sept)
Don Coates Trophy (semi final 31st July)
Don Coates Plate (quarter final 31st July)
Freddie Goldman Trophy Group 2 (currently 1st/5)
Central Softball West (currently 1st/12)
Central Softball East (currently 3rd/11)
Central U10s Hardball (currently 2nd/9)
