2s lose thriller in last over

The first XI collected their 3rd league win of the season on Saturday against Fives and Heronians. Ison chose to bowl first and got off to a excellent start with Will Chuter and John Curtis taking early wickets, Gary Norris hit 51 with help from Ben Britton (25). Chuter took 3/14 & Curtis 5/66 whilst Connor Whetstone took 2/32 to end the innings of 32 by Ali Raza leaving Fives 161 all out.

Shahbazz Butt top scored in the run chase with a excellent 93 as he and Shafiq Rahman (36) set the foundations of the chase. Captain Alan Ison scored 22 not out to take the win and his side to 2nd in the table.

The 2nd XI lost a thrilling match to Buckhurst Hill by one wicket. having been put into bat James Aggio-Brewe and Jordan Tigg both hit 50s in a total of 198/8. Max Carter-Miller and Billy Wright both took 3 wickets in reply to leave Hill 9 wickets down going into the final over of the match. Mark Quant who earlier took 4 wickets hit the winning boundary for a 1 wicket victory.

The 3rd XI ended with a draw in their match against Hutton with their opponenents 9 wickets down at the end of the match. Pete Thompson (66) and Michael Harrison (65) top scored in a total of 223/7. Ollie Peck led the way with the ball taking another 4 wicket haul this season but despite these efforts and those of Mark Schofield (3/27) Hutton were able to get the draw.

The 4th XI lost to Buckhurst Hill 3s at Coopers by 63 runs despite 49 from Ollie White

Rob Bannisters 78 was the highlight of the 5s win agaisnt West Essex. Having scored 211 and taken quick wickets in reply a early victory looked likely before oppo skipper Colin Baxter dug in at number 11 for 39 runs, he was eventually dismissed by Scott Fisher although it was Nathan Bright who took the bowling honours with 4/23

6th XI skipper Paul Scott hit 43 as he led his side to 212/9 in their match against Hornchurch. In reply a number of bowling options were used as Hornchurch batted out for the draw at 74/6
