12 overs per side contest ends with tight finish and local invitational side securing victory

Upminster's U11s, who secured the Havering League title in recent weeks, were edged out by a local Invitational XI on Sunday afternoon, as the two sides warmed up the crowd before the Upminster v Essex clash.

The invitational side was made up of players from Ardleigh Green, Galleywood, Goresbrook, Hornchurch Athletic and Gorebrook, and they held their nerve to prevail by 10 runs in front of the large crowd.

Many thanks to the players from all of these clubs for coming along to play and support the day.

Also a huge thank you to our umpires, Jordan McManus and Mike Ashby, for giving up their time to officiate and to scorer Graeme Lawes. And also a big thank you to U11s Manager David Siggins for setting up the game and ensuring everything ran smoothly.
