2 wins also at the Rob George Foundation 6-a-side

The 2019 season started for Upminster over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Saturday saw a side compete in the Rob George Foundation 6-a-side winning 2 and losing 2 of their matches

Sunday saw the friendly side travel to take on Putney in a first meeting between the sides. The match started in lively fashion with Will Bottoms taking wickets with the first 2 deliveries of the match. Wilmott (78) and Jarmola (44) rebuilt for Putney before another collapse saw them reach 196 from 40 overs.
Upminster replied confidently with Stew Hammond, Will Frost, Nicky Ison and Ollie White all contributing to a 7 wicket victory (Scorecard)

Bank Holiday Monday saw the first game of the season at the club as the 1s hosted Wanstead. Two early dismissals had the 1s strugglling at 21/2 before Alan Ison (88*) and Louis Pickering (77) rebuilt with a 155 run partnership, after Pickerings dismissal Tom Daniels helped Ison adding 47 to a total of 239/4.
Wanstead struggled in reply after tight opening spells from Pickering and John Curtis (2/6) losing wickets at regular intervals. Mohammed Khan top scored with 21 whilst Upminster captain Ollie Peck claimed 2/2
