END OF TERM BBQ AT COLTS NIGHT - THIS FRIDAY (23rd JULY) PDF Print E-mail

To celebrate the beginning of the Summer Holidays, and as a prelude to next week's Cricket Week, there will be a BBQ and Pimms night at the Club this Friday.

 

Food will be available from about 6.30pm and drinks will be available throughout the evening.  There will also be U8s v U9s Kwik Cricket match on the outfield.

 

Any assistance from colts parents or senior members with cooking, bar work and clearing up would be much appreciated.

 
MATCHPLAY TEAM WIN AT FINAL ATTEMPT - VICTORY OVER HAVERING PDF Print E-mail

At the ninth time of asking, the Matchplay Team picked up their first victory of the season, with a thrilling win over Havering at Upminster Park.

Alex Ward was the star with the bat making 40 not out, and then as the game reached it's climax, Will Bottoms held his nerve with the ball to secure a 10 run victory for the home side.

 
UCC COLTS ATTEND ESSEX UNDER 9s TRIALS PDF Print E-mail

Three of Upminster's Under 9s this week attended trials for the Essex Under 9s squad.

Matthew Peters, Jake Giddins and Thomas Daniels all attended the trials, and Matthew has been selected for the squad for this summer.

Congratulations to all three players.

 
UNDER 13s DEFEND TITLE PDF Print E-mail

On Saturday the Under 13s defended their Essex Boys Club Indoor Kwik Cricket title, which Pete Williams' team had won in 2009.

The Upminster side of Sam O'Dowd, Sam Green, Frank Leach, Jordan Tigg, Rohan Mayor and Sam Crotch won all three of their group games before beating Belhus by 6 runs in their semi-final.

In the final they faced a strong Maldon side, but Upminster again came out on top, winning by 4 wickets with time to spare.  

Congratulations to all the boys, and manager Ed Green, and hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the Summer!! 

 
COLTS ARE CHAMPIONS AGAIN PDF Print E-mail


Congratulations to Craig Chuter's Under 11s, who have won the Havering League for 2009.  This is the third year in a row that Upminster have won
the Under 11s League.

Also, congratulations to Pete Williams' Under 13s, who also won their Havering League.  They recorded 7 victories from 7 games played, and clinched

the title with victory over their nearest rivals Gorsebrook.
