CRICKET WEEK UPDATE - UCC "OLD BOYS" SIDE CONFIRMED |

UCC are pleased to confirm their "Old Boys" side for their game against the "40 Club" on the Tuesday of this year's Cricket Week (Tues 27th July).
The side will be captained by current 2nd XI wicket keeper and Chairman of Youth Cricket, Paul Bussey. It also includes two ex 1st XI skippers, Paul Hogg and Neil Foss, as well as spin duo Albert Moulder and Dave Osbourne, and South African star Ronnie "The Dentist" Levin.

The "40 Club" side will be captained by Chadwell Heath stalwart Steve Lugg and will also include well known local players Ash Patel and Carlton Joseph.
The game will begin at 2.00pm and all local cricketers are urged to come along and enjoy the day and see some of these local players in action again!!! |

UPMINSTER THROUGH TO GROUP SEMI FINAL |

Upminster won through to the group semi final of the Dukes Essex 20/20 competition with a 56 run victory over Shenfield. Batting first Upminster scored 194/4 off of their 20 overs thanks to a blistering start from Alan Ison (59). In reply Shenfield couldn't keep up with the run rate following the early dismissal of Arshad Ali and regularlly lost wickets fallind to 138 all out off of 17.1 overs.
Upminster play Brentwood in the group semi final to be played at Upminster on a date to be arranged. |

Weekend Review - 4th / 5th July |

A mixed weekend for Upminster The 1st XI fell to defeat against Hainault & Clayhall. Irfan Shah hit 115 as Hainault hit 317/5 with Naeem taking 3/79. IN reply UPminster reached 230/4 thanks to fifties from Shafiq Rahman and Elliot Bussey but lost their final 6 wickets for 16 runs.
The 2nd XI defeated Chingford thanks to the combined efforts of twin spins James Aggio-Brewe (5/47) and Matt Tigg (4/70), Aggio-Brewe hit 51* in a 4 wicket victory
The 3rd XI looked down and out against West Essex, Pat Cully took 5/32 as West Essex were dismissed for 174 but in reply they fell to 9 down with 40 runs required. A partnership between the last pair of Mark D'Cruz and Rob White though took Upminster to a thrilling victory.
The 4th XI lost for the 2nd time this season against Walthamstow by 4 wickets. The 5th XI also suffered defeat against Hutton 4th XI falling to a 131 run defeat. The 6th XI lost to West Essex 4th XI despite Jamie Marshalls 43 not out. The 7th XI defeated Old Parkonians in a friendly, Will Murphy and Paul Middlemiss contributing with the bat.
On Sunday the 2nd XI lost in the Sunday League game against Hadleigh & Thundersley. Hadleigh scored 262/7 off of their 40 overs and with Upminster losing 3 quick wickets were looking at a heavy defeat, Elliot Bussey though took to the Hadleigh attack but didn't receive any support, his score of 142 out of 244 was 117 runs better than the second highest scorer which was extras with 25.

Upminster face Shenfield on 5th July in the third round of the 20/20 Essex league Cup at Upminster Park (6pm start).
