A hat-trick from Sutha Kailasapillai was the highlight of a convincing win over Colchester and East Essex in the second round of the Dukes 20/20 League Cup last night (Tuesday).  

The "Spa Express" struck three times in three balls during his second over to remove three of the visitors top order.  The first dismissal was caught at mid-wicket before the next two victims were clean bowled.  

Earlier in the evening two sparkling half centuries from Alan Ison and Mike Rath had helped Upminster to reach 191-9 from their 20 overs.  Steve Wright and Terry Wyatt were also in the runs.  After Sutha's hat-trick heroics Jo Austin made a half century, but Colchester were bowled out for 141 in the 18th over.

Upminster will now entertain Shenfield in the 3rd round of the competition (date to be advised).
