It is another important weekend for all of Upminster's sides.
The 1st XI face one of their most crucial weekend's of the season so far. On Saturday they visit Woodford Wells in the Premier Division. This will be the last "all-day" game before matches return to 50 over affairs next Saturday. Upminster sit just two places above Wells in the table, and
will be looking to ensure this is still the case at 7.30pm on Saturday night!!
On Sunday the 1st XI travel to Walthamstow for their League Cup semi-final, as they bid to reach the final of this competition for the first time in their history. Stow currently sit 4th in Division Two of the Essex League, but will be buoyed by their performances in the earlier rounds of this competition. The game begins at 1pm at Stow's Greenway Avenue Ground, and all support is welcome.
The 2nd XI will be hoping to pick up a much needed win as they host Woodford Wells at Upminster Park on Saturday. One of Upminster's two victories this season came at Wells in June, and they need a repeat of this as they bid to climb out of the drop zone. Nicky Ison returns to skipper the side after missing most of the season through injury.
Chris Cully scored his first century for many a year as Upminster 3rd XI beat Wells back in June, and he will hope for a repeat on Saturday. The 3rd XI have shown some improved form in recent weeks to move away from the bottom of the table, and they will look to continue this at Coopers tomorrow.
The 4th XI face a tough encounter when they travel to Buckhurst Hill. Will Sissen's men have put together a good run of results in recent week, and a victory would keep alive their outside chances of promotion.
Karim Govani's 5th XI need one more victory to ensure their Premier Division status for next season, and they will look to get this win at struggling Hutton. Pete Williams will be looking to add to his already impressive tally of league victims in 2009!!
The 6th XI welcome league leaders Wanstead 5th XI to Coopers. Paul Scott's side have recorded some impressive results in 2009, and they will be looking to add another win to their tally against a Wanstead side who have only lost one game all season.
As well as the League Cup match on Sunday, the 2nd XI are in league action as they visit top of the table Roding Valley, while the 3rd XI entertain Craven CC at Upminster Park.
